Larger than life size bust of Captain Eric Winkle Brown sculpture, by Jenna Gearing the remarkable Portraitist in Bronze.
This bust was commissioned for the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton. The bust was depicted from photos given to me by Captain Brown himself, captured in the 1940`s.
`Winkle` is revered as the greatest test pilot of all time, having set numerous aviation records that will almost certainly never be broken. His achievements have included flying 487 different types of aircraft, being the first man to land a jet on an aircraft carrier and he also flew extensive combat missions during the Second World War.
He was recently the subject of the prime time BBC documentary "Britain`s Greatest Pilot: The Extraordinary Story of Captain Winkle Brown."
